Zebraa is committed to:

• Promoting responsible management of end-of-life electrical and electronic products.
• Encouraging customers to avoid disposing of electronic products with general household waste.
• Supporting environmentally sound recycling and disposal practices.
• Channelizing eligible e-waste through appropriate authorized or registered entities, wherever required.
• Complying with applicable Extended Producer Responsibility (“EPR”) requirements.
• Creating awareness among customers regarding responsible e-waste disposal.
• Reducing the environmental and health risks associated with improper handling of electronic waste.

The E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 establish an EPR framework for applicable producers and require e-waste to be managed through environmentally sound channels.

2. What is E-Waste?

E-waste refers broadly to discarded electrical and electronic equipment, components, parts, accessories, and other electronic items that have reached the end of their useful life and are no longer intended for use.

Examples may include, where applicable:

• Chargers and power adapters.
• Charging accessories.
• Electronic cables and components.
• Other eligible electrical or electronic equipment covered by applicable regulations.

Not every electrical or electronic item is necessarily covered by the same regulatory category. Applicability is determined under the applicable legislation and schedules in force at the relevant time.

3. Why Responsible E-Waste Disposal Matters

Electronic products may contain materials and components that can be recovered and reused through proper recycling. Improper disposal, burning, dismantling, or processing of e-waste can result in environmental pollution and potential risks to human health.

The Central Pollution Control Board (“CPCB”) identifies environmentally sound management of e-waste as an important objective of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. Responsible recycling helps:

• Recover valuable materials.
• Reduce unnecessary extraction of natural resources.
• Minimize waste sent to landfills.
• Reduce the risk associated with unsafe dismantling or disposal.
• Support a circular economy.

4. Do Not Dispose of E-Waste with Household Waste

Customers are requested not to dispose of end-of-life Zebraa electronic products with ordinary household or municipal waste. Electronic products should not be:

• Burned.
• Buried.
• Broken apart unnecessarily.
• Disposed of in drains, water bodies, or open land.
• Handed over to unauthorized persons for unsafe dismantling or recycling.

Instead, customers should use appropriate collection, take-back, or authorized recycling channels available in their area.

5. Customer Responsibility

Customers play an important role in responsible e-waste management. Customers are encouraged to:

• Keep end-of-life electronic products separate from regular household waste.
• Avoid dismantling electronic products themselves.
• Use authorized or appropriate collection and recycling channels.
• Follow instructions provided by Zebraa or its designated recycling partners, where applicable.
• Ensure that products are safely packaged when a return or collection is arranged.
• Remove personal or confidential information from applicable electronic devices before handing them over for recycling.

Zebraa recommends that customers do not attempt to repair, dismantle, modify, or dispose of electronic products through informal or unsafe recycling channels.

6. Extended Producer Responsibility

Where Zebraa is classified as a “Producer” for applicable products under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, Zebraa will undertake applicable Extended Producer Responsibility obligations in accordance with the Rules and applicable regulatory requirements.

The EPR framework places responsibility on applicable producers for environmentally sound management of covered electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its useful life.

Where applicable, Zebraa may fulfil its EPR obligations through the regulatory mechanism prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board, including engagement with registered recyclers and other authorized entities as required.

7. Collection and Take-Back

Where a take-back or collection facility is available for eligible Zebraa products, customers may be provided with appropriate instructions for returning or handing over end-of-life products. The availability and method of collection may depend on:

• Product category.
• Customer location.
• Applicable regulatory requirements.
• Availability of collection infrastructure.
• Availability of authorized or registered recycling partners.
• Operational and logistical considerations.

8. Recycling and Channelization

Zebraa is committed to ensuring that eligible e-waste is channelized through appropriate environmentally sound channels. Where required under applicable law, Zebraa will work with CPCB-registered recyclers or other legally authorized entities, as applicable.

The CPCB's E-Waste EPR system provides for producers to fulfil applicable EPR obligations through registered recyclers and the prescribed EPR framework. Zebraa does not encourage customers to hand over e-waste to unauthorized dismantlers, informal recyclers, or other persons who may process e-waste using unsafe methods.

9. Environmentally Sound Management

Zebraa supports environmentally sound management of e-waste, including appropriate collection, transportation, storage, dismantling, recycling, recovery, and processing through applicable authorized or registered channels.

Where applicable, e-waste will be managed in accordance with the requirements of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 and amendments or other applicable environmental regulations. The regulatory framework is designed to ensure that e-waste is managed in a manner that protects human health and the environment from adverse effects associated with improper handling and processing.

10. Data Protection and Personal Information

Customers should take reasonable steps to remove personal, confidential, or sensitive information from any electronic device before handing it over for recycling.

For products that do not ordinarily store personal information, such as charging adapters and cables, this requirement may not generally apply. Zebraa shall not be responsible for personal information that remains on a customer's electronic device after the customer has handed it over for disposal or recycling, except to the extent required under applicable law.

11. Product Safety

Customers should not attempt to dismantle, open, burn, crush, puncture, or otherwise physically alter electronic products before disposal.

Damaged, swollen, burnt, or otherwise hazardous electronic products should be handled with appropriate care and should not be transported or disposed of in a manner that could create a safety or environmental risk. Where a product presents a potential safety hazard, customers should contact Zebraa for appropriate guidance before attempting to return or dispose of the product.

12. Awareness and Customer Education

Zebraa is committed to increasing awareness about responsible e-waste management. We encourage our customers and business partners to:

• Reduce unnecessary electronic consumption.
• Extend product life through proper use and care.
• Prefer repair or reuse where safe and appropriate.
• Dispose of end-of-life electronic products responsibly.
• Use authorized recycling channels.
• Avoid informal or environmentally harmful recycling practices.

13. Compliance with Applicable Laws

Zebraa will comply with applicable provisions of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, as amended from time to time, and other applicable environmental laws, regulations, notifications, guidelines, and directions issued by competent authorities.

The E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 came into effect on 1 April 2023 and provide an EPR-based framework for applicable electrical and electronic equipment. Zebraa may update its e-waste management practices from time to time to reflect changes in applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, EPR obligations, or recycling practices.

14. EPR Registration and Regulatory Information

Where applicable, Zebraa will maintain the registrations, records, filings, and other regulatory documentation required under the applicable E-Waste (Management) Rules and related regulatory framework.

Where disclosure is legally required, relevant EPR registration or regulatory information may be published or made available through the Website or appropriate regulatory channels.

15. Reporting and Record Keeping

Where required by applicable law, Zebraa will maintain appropriate records relating to its e-waste management and EPR activities. This may include, where applicable:

The CPCB E-Waste EPR system provides for registration, EPR obligations, recycling certificates, and periodic reporting by applicable stakeholders.

16. Prohibited Disposal Practices

Customers, employees, business partners, and other stakeholders are requested not to engage in or facilitate:

• Open burning of e-waste.
• Disposal of e-waste in water bodies.
• Open dumping of electronic products.
• Unauthorized dismantling or processing.
• Unsafe recovery of metals or components.
• Disposal through general waste streams where prohibited.
• Any other practice that may cause environmental pollution or health risks.

17. Business Partners and Suppliers

Zebraa encourages its relevant business partners, suppliers, logistics providers, and service providers to adopt environmentally responsible practices.

Where applicable, Zebraa may require relevant partners involved in e-waste collection, transportation, dismantling, recycling, or processing to maintain appropriate registrations, approvals, authorizations, or regulatory compliance.
